Theory: Optical laws and basic components of a Telescope/Lens/Cameras. Image quality and seeing. How to observe bright astronomy objects and how to observe deep sky objects. Limiting exposure vs magnitude. Light pollution and filters. Time Lapse technics.

Practices: Visual observing with some telescopes from 400, 300, 120 to 80mm. diameter. Night landscape photography using your digital cameras or, with observatory cameras.

2º day

Theory: Sky and Earth motion. Equatorial mount and long exposure imaging. S/N ratio and related notes. How to schedule the best time/hour for your images. Software for astrophotography.

Practices: Long exposure astronomical imaging using telescopes and photo lens. Night landscape imaging using your favorite digital cameras.

3º day

Theory: Initiation to the image processing. Image formats. Image calibration. Combining multiple images. Tricolor RGB composition and quad-color LRGB composition.

Practices: Imaging some selected objects like: Milky Way, nebulas, galaxies or star clusters.

4º day

Theory: No applicable.

Practices: Night trip to a selected mountain area for time-lapse imaging using your favorite digital cameras.

5º day

Theory: How to catch comets and asteroids using photography technics.

Practices: Imaging comets and asteroids using the RC 405 telescope from the astropriorat observatory.

6º day

Theory: Security in the solar observation. Filters and methods of observation. Phenomena that we can observe in the Sun.

Practices: Sun activity photography trough filters of white light (photosphere) and H-alpha wavelength (chromosphere).

Duration and timetable:

Total of 22 hours, along 5 consecutive nights, from 22 to 02 h. and one diurnal session for sun observing in agreement of date and hour.

What you just have to bring?

- Your DSLR and a fast ratio lens (f/2.8 or less)
- Extra batteries for your camera.
- Solid tripod.
- An intervalometer (if available)
- Laptop
- Warm clothing and shoes. Small red lamp.
- Pen drive for safe keeping your images
